USSR

Stolychnaya Vodka in a Classic Vodka Martini

  • 60ml Vodka​
  • 15ml Dry Vermouth​
  • Fill a mixing glass with ice cubes.
  • Add ingredients with a twist of lemon
  • Stir and strain into a cocktail glass.
  • Garnish with a green olive

East meets West, the iconic Russian spirit served as an American classic cocktail. If you want to shun the West and fully commit, ignore the other ingredients and serve your vodka chilled and neat.

 

United States of America

Maker's Mark 46 Straight Bourbon Kentucky Whisky in a Manhattan

  • 60ml Whisky
  • 30ml Vermouth Rosso
  • 2 dashes of Bitters
  • Cherry for garnish

Dating back to the 1880's in New York City, the Manhattan was (possibly) first served at a party hosted by Lady Randolph Churchill for presidential candidate Samuel J. Tilden.

 

United Kingdom

Tanqueray Gin and Tonic

  • Add ice to a tall glass
  • Pour in 50ml of Gin
  • Add 150ml of Tonic Water
  • Add a wedge of lemon and stir

Created for military officers of the East India Company to help combat the effects of Malaria.

 

People's Republic of China

Kweichou Moutai Prince served neat as intended

  • Take a tulip-shaped glass
  • Serve at 20-25°C
  • Pinch your glass at the base to avoid altering the temperature
  • Sip and savour

Moutai was named a national liquor in 1951, two years after the founding of People's Republic of China.

 

French Republic

Remy Martin VSOP Cognac either neat or over ice

  • Select a tumbler or rocks glass
  • Add a little Cognac to your glass and swirl
  • Pour 30ml of Cognac and prepare your senses

Remy Martin is blended of eau-de-vie from the Grande and Petite Champagne growing areas of France. VSOP designates a blend in which the youngest brandy is stored in casks for 4yrs or more.

 

Commonwealth of Australia

Bundaberg Select Vat Rum in a Dark and Stormy

  • Fill a highball with ice
  • Add fresh lime juice
  • Add Ginger Beer
  • Add 30ml of Rum
  • Garnish with a lime wedge

The Dark and Stormy may have its origins with rum maker Gosling Brothers in Bermuda, but Queensland is also world famous for its sugar cane plantations, rum and traditionally brewed ginger beer.

 

Republic of Cuba

Havana Club Añejo 3 Años Rum in a Mojito

  • Muddle 1 Lime
  • Add 2 tsp of Sugar 
  • Add 2 Sprigs of Mint
  • 50ml Rum
  • Crushed Ice

Routinely presented as a favorite drink of author Ernest Hemingway, the Mojito has become synonymous with Cuba, the Revolution and the Caribbean.

 

East Germany

Weihenstephaner Pilsner
  • Chill the Beer to 4-6°
  • Served in a chilled Pilsner glass

Written in 1516, the Reinheitsgebot (Bavarian Purity Laws) stipulate that only four ingredients can be used to brew fine German beer: water, malt, hops and yeast.
